This course is aimed at explaining basic Chinese grammar, enlarging students’ vocabulary, and introducing related Chinese culture. The overall emphasis is to cultivate listening and speaking skills. By the end of this course, students are expected to achieve natural and fluent oral communication on certain topics.
1. To achieve precise pronunciation and relatively fluent expression.
2. To be able to successfully communicate on familiar topics in daily life.
3. To develop the ability to construct dialogues at intermediate level.
Task-based approach, combining lectures and language practice. A variety of learning approaches is employed including simulation environment exercises, role play, debates, discussion and interactive practice.
This course is designed for those who have finished the beginner’s courses but are not yet familiar with the Chinese phonetic system or the basic structure of Chinese grammar rules, and need to improve their listening and speaking skills, as well as their communication abilities.
