Chinese Classes for Children

(A Joint program of UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland and Aihua Chinese School)

Enrolment Information

Since its inception in 2006, the UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland has been dedicated to the promotion of Chinese culture and Chinese language learning. With ten years of development and experience, the Institute has grown into the centre of excellence with a specialised platform for Chinese language and culture learning in Ireland. Aihua Chinese School, founded in 2004, has accumulated rich experiences in teaching Chinese to children over the past decade. To meet increasing market demands and parents’ wishes, at the beginning of 2016, the two parties decided to join hands to launch a flagship Chinese learning program called Dublin Confucius Classroom for Children.

Dublin Confucius Classroom for Children provides a wide range of Chinese courses all year long. They focus on teaching Mandarin, pinyin (i.e., Chinese phonics) and hanzi (i.e., Chinese characters) by enhancing students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Introductions and experiences of various aspects of Chinese culture are also provided throughout the courses.

The Confucius Institute for Ireland and Aihua Chinese School boast highly qualified Chinese teachers and excellent teaching facilities. Children are grouped according to their ages and language levels, and the learning process is packed with fun activities with fun learning materials such as drawing, stories, nursery rhymes, poems and games.
