The Launch of Dublin Confucius Class for Children at UCD

On January 16, 2016, Dublin Confucius Class for Children was successfully launched at UCD and welcomed more than one hundred children with a range of ages, races, and language levels. The Class is a joint venture between UCD Confucius Institute and Aihua Chinese School. This Chinese learning programme for children initially includes 11 classes in total.

Since its inception in 2006, the UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland has been dedicated to the promotion of Chinese culture and Chinese language learning. With nearly ten years of development and experience, the Institute has grown into the center of excellence with a specialized platform for Chinese language and culture learning in Ireland. Aihua Chinese School, founded in 2004, has accumulated rich experiences in teaching Chinese to children in the past decade. The collaboration between UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland and Aihua Chinese School forges a flagship for children’s Chinese learning in Dublin region. Focusing on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, Chinese classes for Children will also incorporate Chinese classics and traditional cultural elements into classroom teaching. Children will not only enjoy the language learning, but also absorb the essence of Chinese culture.
